Hydrogen peroxide, rinse with cold water, follow with cold water oxiclean soak for 30 min or more, finally treat with Fels Naptha before you put it in the washing machine with cold water. Might be overkill but it works for me!

Dye the rest of the shirt red?

Oxiclean would be my best effort.

You heard right. Hydrogen peroxide gets out blood like nothing else, even after it has dried in to rough textured concrete.

If you don't have a fair amount of hydrogen peroxide on hand, it is the active ingredient in Clorox 2 Color-Safe Bleach. I'd just pour some Clorox 2 on the affected area, give it a good, vigorous scrubbing with a frazzed-out toothbrush, let it sit for a half an hour or so, then pop it in the wash on "cold".

The generic Oxiclean worked fine. I didn't know I had it until I rummaged around in the laundry room.

Pour milk over the stain and let it sit, then wash. Or if it's small you can blot the stain out with the milk.
