Joe Namath really needs money

It’s sad seeing him hawking the dubious services of the “Medicare Coverage Hotline” on somewhat minor cable channels. Getting old sure kills your swagger.

I'll stand by him as long as he doesn't hawk Reverse Mortgages.

It was a sad day when I heard that Tom Selleck was pimping reverse mortgages.

I am that Masked Man.

All you can do, is all you can do.

There’s trouble — it's time to play the sound of my people.

Your boos mean nothing to me, I've seen what you cheer for.

Insisting on your rights without acknowledging your responsibilities isn’t freedom, it’s adolescence.

all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.

by believing all possible evil of evil men.

I was positive that you were talking about this instead:

The letter, obtained by ESPN, was sent by Dickerson and was said to have been signed by Hall of Fame Board members Rice, Warner, Marcus Allen, Mel Blount, Derrick Brooks, Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Richard Dent, Carl Eller, Marshall Faulk, Mike Haynes, Rickey Jackson, Ronnie Lott, Curtis Martin, Joe Namath, John Randle, Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Jackie Smith, Lawrence Taylor and Sarah White, Reggie White's widow.

"We, the undersigned Pro Football Hall of Famers, were integral to the creation of the modern NFL, which in 2017 generated $14 billion in revenue," the letter begins. "But when the league enshrined us as the greatest ever to play America's most popular sport, they gave us a gold jacket, a bust and a ring -- and that was it.

"People know us from our highlight reels. They see us honored and mythologized before games and at halftime, and it would be reasonable if they thought life was good for us. But on balance, it's not. As a group we are struggling with severe health and financial problems. To build this game, we sacrificed our bodies. In many cases, and despite the fact that we were led to believe otherwise, we sacrificed our minds. We believe we deserve more. We write to demand two things: Health insurance and annual salary for all Hall of Famers that includes a share of league revenue."

Joe has looked cheerful but gimpy and like he’s shrinking for a few years now.

...or his 49 year old friend doing commercials for Aveeno, as if
cosmetic surgery has nothing to do with the 'youthful' appearance.

Then there's Rodney Peete, Bret Favre, Jerry Rice, Frank Thomas, etc.

Greedy and ungrateful bunch of crybabies. Next thing they'll want more compensation for CTE injuries.

Wasn't Erik Estrada (from CHiPs) pitching for some swamp land down in Florida?

And what does/did Henry Winkler (Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli) sell?

Robert Vaughn pitched some sort of hair loss remedy at what was apparently a very low point in his career (Napoleon SoLow?). I only ever saw it in the wee hours. Alex Trebek is pushing some sort of insurance.

Trebek can't be hurting for money, so the fact that he gets paid to hawk reverse mortgages shows you how much money is in it.

Umm, Alex Trebek gets paid to promote term life insurance, not reverse mortgages.

yep, Colonial Penn. Founded by AARP co-founder Leonard Davis.

That $9.95/month ($119.40/yr) premium gets you $1786 in coverage
if you're under 70. Basically, you have to be enrolled for TWO years
for a full claim to be paid too!

Makes me wonder if Alex is an investor in CP?

Supposedly has a net worth of 18 million.

I doubt he "really needs" money.
I rather believe they made him an offer he or his better half couldn't refuse.

Be it money in his pocket or a charitable tax write off
