Be prepared for dozens of confusing cable-type promo deals and bundle prices that apparently conflict with one another and look nothing like what you see on your credit card bill.

Expect all the XM channels to show up on Pandora for a subscription fee.

SiriusXM's billing practices are loathsome, and now they'll spread to another company. Yay!

I paid for a lifetime subscription to XM 13 years ago. It means my per-year cost goes down every year.

Horrible compression on XM--audio quality is nasty.

down the drain. nearly given up on Pandora anyhow. Mostly internet AAA radio now.
Sirius brings back bad memories of getting out. They were chasing me for a freebe with the new car until recently. Don't let the door hitcha in the arse.

I pay SiriusXM $5 per month per car but have to call and renew that/threaten to leave every 5-6 months. It's a pain but terrestrial radio in Atlanta is horrible, so it makes it worthwhile.

I listen in my car. Don't need audiophile quality sound there. Terrestrial radio here sucks big time. And if you travel more than a few miles out of town, all the stations either fade or get staticky. And the commercials! Holy crap. Had to drive our pickup recently that doesn't have XM (well, I could have taken the receiver out of my honda, but I was too lazy). I have six local stations programmed. I think they all time their commercials at the same time. On many occasions, I scanned through all 6 stations, and they all had commercials on.

I like XM because the variety of stations they provide. The only "commercials" I listen to are promos for the station I'm listening to. And they last maybe 15 seconds. I do get tired of some of the DJs who blather on sometimes, but some are ok, and are actually informative. And they have exclusive content frequently. Recently they aired a subscriber-only concert of U2 at the Apollo. Another one was Alice in Chains performing an acoustic set from the Space Needle.

Agreed. I've subscribed to Sirius for some time, but finally gave it up entirely when I became "retired" (disabled) and no longer had a daily commute. I use Pandora's free version and really like the mixes it creates for me based on a song, an artist, or a theme. Sirius, at best, became repetitive rather quickly.

and if I decide to add an artist to the list, easy as just adding them. As far as I can tell no other service lets you do that.

Sure. amazon music will let me choose "classic rock" -- but what if I want some 90's power ballads too? I cant find a way to do it in Amazon. In Pandora, I just add a group or a song and it will add more for me...

Recently, "T-Mobile Tuesday" had an offer of one year of Pandora Premium for FREE (which I did grab). I wonder if that will be affected. dunno smiley

I’m guessing that is going to kill Pandora. That’s too bad because it’s a great service.

Hi everyone,

Gotta say, I love Pandora. Use it all the time in my warehouse in conjunction with an Echo Dot. Be real annoyed if XM skews it. Unfortunately, based on my experience with Sirius-XM Satellite Radio in my car, I suspect I'll be switching to a different service sooner rather than later. Grrrr.
