UhMerican English- Meh-thane.
Scottish English- Booggin Air Beige gas, ye C*nt !

Spelt the same, pronounced differently.

Methane, ethane, propane, butane. The -ane parts of the words are all pronounced the same. How do you pronounce meth (I hate meethes to pieces)? Now add the -ane.

As stated above:
UK - Mee-thane
US - Meh-thane

Much like:
UK - Mee-graine
US - My-graine

Born in UK with US mother - my sister and I never fully understood how to say words with conflicting pronunciations. We found ourselves pronouncing words in an in-between fashion; eg. instead of Yogg-urt or Yoh-gurt, we said Yur-gurt.
