Actual Mac Question: Mojave logs me out at a certain point
Posted by: Grumpyguy

Running Mojave and after a couple hours, while I'm at work, it logs me out. I have to input my password to get back into it.

On its own, its a minor inconvenience, but.... But I snipe on eBay for my watches and of course, when logged out, my snipe program won't work.

I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to turn this feature off.

In Security and Privacy, "Require password after sleep..." IS NOT enabled

In Users and Groups I have automatic login selected

Please lead me to the promise land or the right system preference grinning smiley

System preferences/Security & Privacy/click on "advanced" in the lower right and uncheck "log out after x minutes of no activity"

Apple ignores your loose security settings and puts everything back to default when upgrading the OS. That's been happening for the last several OSes. I would appreciate it if they would show a list of these changes the first time you boot up in the new OS.

Didn't know that was there, but nothing was checked off, so that's not the culprit.

Another possibility?

Try turning both of those options on, save preferences, and then off again.

System Preferences/Desktop and/or Display ... Look at Hot Corner selections

System Preferences/Energy Saver ... Power v. Battery ... sleep after time interval for disk or cpu

Sorry, no Mojave available to check against.
