Syncing Podcasts on iPad Air

Macbook has latest High Sierra, and iPad is 12.1.

I connect iPad, and have iTunes launched

I say only sync selected Podcasts, and then maybe the newest 5, and it still syncs all the ones I did on the iPhone and probably includes everyone. It doesn't care if the only SELECTED podcasts is check or not.

Something is not quite right

There are so many variables here...

Are you syncing the iPhone before the iPad, what settings you have in iTunes (your description wasn't very precise), have you checked your iCloud settings ...

But I'm going to give you a tip that's going to solve all of it in one fell swoop.

Apple has ruined podcast-management in iTunes. Download and run Overcast on your devices and never worry about it again.

This X1000

I am an avid podcast listener on my iPhone. Been using apple's podcast app forever. Finally had enough of its bullsh!t issues and downloaded Overcast maybe 6 months ago. It has worked flawlessly. Zero issues. Way better in every way. Plus if you setup a free account, you can sync your podcast activity between other devices running Overcast. Super handy. Can't recommend it enough.

As others have said - $#!^can Apple's pathetic excuse for a podcast app, delete all data and reference to it, and DON"T FORGET to leave a ONE Star (because you can't leave a ZERO star) review in the App Store...

Then download Overcast and see how a Podcast App is SUPPOSED to work.

If I ever meet the guy at the head of the Apple Podcasts "team", I'm gonna punch him in the nuts and then kick him in the shins. I had NOTHING but troubles since iOS 8 with Podcasts...

UNLESS you have video podcasts! Overcast does not seem to know they exist! If you do, I recommend Downcast. ( I Do use Overcast for Audo-only podcasts)
