VPN in China, ugg no gmail or google

I have PIA vpn, but have read that as of November China has really cut down on VPN usage, even PIA gets kicked off every 1-2 minutes. Could someone look at the PIA website and see if they have a workaround for setting up vpn in China , using a special setup texhnique

They say to use something called L2TP/IPSec.

Isn't it illegal to use VPN in China?

What about downloading your mail in Apple's Mail? is that blocked too?

China also blocks any access to privateinternetaccess website or all websites that give us VPN or directions. If someone could copy the text of how to setup that L2TP to get around the blockage, and attach as a file.

That would be much appreciated.

Everything I read, says I should have done this before arriving in china.

Mail works, except for gmail accounts, or anything powered by google like google servers.
You can use Bing for your searches, just switch to the english version.

Even Google is accessible sometimes in major hotels or convention centers....

It looks like you might have needed to generate a password for L2TP on their website. Hope you get it to work. smiling smiley

I had problems last month with ExpressVPN in China - and they have been rock solid previously - I need to remember to check for updates before I head out that way again in January. Strangely, it worked fine on my iPhone, but the MacBook Pro failed to connect 80% of the time

If they don't need my login and pw for PIA, can someone go to the PIA site and see if they can generate q PW and username and send to me for the setup above.?

China is OK, and tour people talk about how great one government is, but not having social media is crazy.
