No spot metering, which seems kinda weird to me as I use spot metering all the time.

For $279 I could probably make partial metering work OK-fine.

I couldn't find a rfurb body only on Canon's site but they do have it with just the 18-55 if you're looking to use a 18-300 type walk around lens to avoid lens swapping.

I wish Canon would invest in promoting their M-series cameras more. They are quite popular in Japan, but here hardly anyone knows anything about them. I recently got the M50 with the 18-150 as well as the stock 15-45 and EF-M to EF-S adapter and I really like it. It's small and lightweight, but with a 24 mpx sensor it creates very nice looking photos. I would much rather have the m5, as it has more controls, but the M50 has newer technology.
