It DOES mean that she is entitled to 50% of all assets acquired by the couple during the marriage.
And in some long term marriages, a partner may further be entitled to a portion of assets acquired after the marriage.
Given how she'll probably do in the divorce, that probably wouldn't be a consideration. Lots of laws and variables, which is why most divorce lawyers are hated by half the population, and loved by the other half.
Both will do OK, though Bezo may cry a little as assets are hauled away. I wonder if he's been salting away something for a 'rainy' day.
Of course, it could all be very amicable, with a friendly, agreeable division of assets.
It's too bad VallyWag wasn't still around.
