But tomorrow it's going to be REALLY cold.

Yes, I know someone who lives in Fargo. He's a preacher.

Here's the appropriate quote for him.
"In Dante's Inferno, Satan is portrayed as a giant demon, frozen mid-breast in
ice at the center of Hell. As Satan beats his wings, he creates a cold wind that
continues to freeze the ice surrounding him and the other sinners in the Ninth
Circle. The winds he creates are felt throughout the other circles of Hell."

Fargo is in the suburbs

-4 here at my weather station in SW Iowa and falling, suppose to be -22 in the AM not factoring in windchill. One plus to my gallbladder surgery this morning, I'm confined to the house the next couple days, darn.

If any of you warm weather forumites want to laugh at us popsicles tomorrow here is my weather station at home and here my station at work via weatherunderground.

What are those funny little dashes that you guys are writing to the left of the numbers?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

It's a cruel winter! Single digits tonight (wind chills go negative) for a couple of days, then 50's on Sunday.
Daffodils made a foray above ground a week ago but have (wisely) stopped any further growth.
Made my run to the gym and grocery store Tuesday so that I won't have to go outside on Wed and Thu.

im perched on the shore of lake michigan right now...wind is blazing. The house i'm in, a house i work on regularly (because lake michigan beats the living @#$%& out of it), wont make it over 55 degrees..it is now 2 below and projected for 15 below in the morn (this keeps changing from what i can see)..it's not bad..there is nobody around here and I'm doing a major renovation of the yellow pine, tongue in groove wall finishes, complete sanding of 4 bedrooms with built in bunk beds.everything goes to the wood and then refinish..this part is NOT fun..it's brutal...but, I'm really enjoying being here right now, it's very dramatic and loud as hell with this wind...total whiteout all day today. good night.

I was wondering the same thing.

It got down to a bone chilling 56º today.

Golfer, what weather stations do you use? I'm interested in setting one up at my house, but am not sure where to start. There seems to be quite a variety, in models as well as prices.

There are no funny little dashes on the Kelvin scale.

Only 6 below with a wind chill of -28ºF here in SE lower MI. Tropical compared to MN/WI/IL. We'll get the really brutal stuff tonight, tho.

Can't thank the emergency responders enough in this weather especially firefighters...

We're at -4°F with a feels like of -14°F, though some are showing/saying -23. The temperature is going to moderate to a balmy 1° F but wind chills staying the same or increasing to -26°F. The winds are going to be picking up.

At home it is -32F and rising. Windchill was -65. Today the high will be -15.

But then I’m not home but rather I’m spending the winter in sunny and mild Guatemala where it is presently 30F (at 7500 feet of elevation) going up to 66F. School was delayed two hours due to cold temps.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

I use the Ambient Weather WS-1400-IP. I really like it and it has been virtually trouble free, no muss, no fuss. I had the one set up at home, then got my dad one and then set up the one at work. I've had my home one several years now.
