Who’s not going to watch the Super Bowl?

Raising my hand. Just can’t work up enough interest to watch. Maybe a bit of Puppy Bowl, though.

I always watch, no matter who's playing. It's my last shot at watching sports until about mid-August, when college football starts again. I can't stand basketball, and baseball is just too boring to watch anymore. I may actually go to some hockey games though... we have a decent minor-league hockey team, but I don't watch it on TV.

I haven't watched in years, not going to change for this year's SB. I will be at work, and with a significant fraction of the students at the university watching, it will be a quieter Sunday night at the library.

I watch it, but its barely football anymore. Its more about the event. Its the last football until fall, so I will take it.

I love watching baseball in person and minor league games are a lot of fun. And the wife and and I enjoy basketball (Go Spurs Go!).

I don't remember the last football game that I watched on TV. I also stopped watching the NFL live as the 'TV timeouts' increased without apparent bound.

I normally watch the Super Bowl, but I simply have no interest in it this year. I can’t even conjure up my usual hating on Tom Brady, that’s how not interested I am. Somehow, neither team gives me a reason to watch.

Meh, actually have never watched one. Closest I came was XX in '86 when the Bears were playing (don't ask me who the other team was or who won). We had a Super Bowl party because of the half-time, it was in 3D.

Super Bowl Sunday is the day I traditionally go skiing. Sadly there's going to be too much snow and wind to ski today (though I am planning to ski Wednesday. I will definitely not be watching the TV today though.

I didn't even know it was happening until my wife told me. She didn't know herself until her hairdresser said something yesterday. Just not interested in that kind of event.

I usually watch, hoping for at least a good game even if I have no invested interest in the teams. But this year, meh. Dynasty teams are only fun if you are a fan of said dynasty. They got beat last year by the underdog, so that's not as novel, and very unlikely to happen twice in a row. And the Rams aren't a very underdoggy underdog. After years of moving around, they have no soul, no culture, no story. Just a product.

It is here in Atlanta this year, so we will have it on. It will be interesting to see if the new stadium and environs get good reviews.
My husband is a Pats fan, go figure, so he will be pulling for them.
I may watch while doing something else. smiling smiley
BTW, we went to the Publix across the street a little while ago and it was crawling with people obviously getting stuff for SB parties. Publix is only that crowded when a dusting of snow is in the forcast. Lol

Will start with the game, but if it turns into Stupor Bowl LIII, forget it. The commercials and halftime show aren't important either since both can be You Tubed after the fact if they're any good.

These games rarely live up to expectations, and it would've been more fun to see either:

a) NOLA vs Boston - Two old warhorses (Brees and Brady) going for broke;
b) KC vs L.A. (The new kids on the block)
(KC vs NOLA might've been interesting, too.)

But as it stands, there's not much to root for (except maybe watching Brady become the meat in a Donald - Suh sammich).

Bold Prediction: Brady and the Patriots will throw early and often, and they'll get out to a big lead. L.A. will be forced to leave their run game and Gurley-mon III will have to prove his worth as a receiver.

I'll watch, though I seldom have any interest in it. But some friends are having a gathering, and I'll be interested to see if there are any enjoyable commercials. The last few SBs haven't yielded many, so expectations are low.

I usually turn it on if I'm home but it's typically the ONLY game of the year I watch and it's more for the spectacle, the commercials and the halftime show.

The photography they're doing these days is pretty amazing: that camera moving on wires over the players is great.

It was actually a fine defensive battle that could have gone either way. The Pats caught a break and brought home the victory.

Gladys Knight sang a beautiful National Anthem being that she is the Empress of Soul. The other two young women that sang America the Beautiful did wonderfully as well. The halftime show was your basic concert, not bad but nothing too dazzling (I did really like those floaty things).

But what's the most important thing guys?
