There are loads of different kinds of pancreatic cancer alone. My brother's MIL lived about 6 years on minimal treatment as hers happened to be less invasive. Luck (not really, I suppose) of the draw.

Holy Schmoley ! Good for him to be part of the 3%.

Everyone I know personally who was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer lasted less than 6 months. My MIL lasted 4 weeks. Then again her condition was found because she was badly jaundiced. "Du bist Gelb !"

“Shrinking by 50% on chemo” is not gonna do it.

Best wishes for Mr. Trebek, but if it’s garden-variety pancreatic cancer (and not an odd one, like the islet-cell tumor that Jobs had), the odds are still long. Very long.

It's helpful to be optimistic, but it's not gone until it's ALL gone. And even then...
