Call a recycler or the city. If it works, perhaps the Freon has value.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

The city will take it away AND give me $25.

Is it retro looking? Does it work? You might be able to get a couple hundred if it is in nice shape on Craigslist.

True. Old lever-lock handled ones with rounded doors are VERY cool looking.

We had one in the old family home that step-dad built in 1948. Upright freezer, as described, was put in house shortly thereafter. After the folks were empty-nested, they finally downsized in 1978, and the buyers insisted on keeping the freezer. Unfortunately, they painted white over all the exotic and domestic wood throughout all of the main living areas. Hubby & wife were both doctors, and I guess they couldn't bear to be away from the hospital look. That was a sin, and I wondered what they did with that old freezer, and if it was sinful, too.

don't know if it was 45 years old but the local electric company gave me $35 for allowing them to pick up my late brother's freezer for recycling.
