when I'm using Logic or ProTools, I turn off display mirror and run the mixer on one window and the editor on the other.

I also usually have a couple other apps open that I'd prefer to be on the 24" ext.
Is there an app that can take care of screen management like this?

This sounds like something Mission Control/Spaces should do, but I honestly can't tell you how.

May not what you mean to do, but if you single-left-click on the monitor you want an app to open on/in and then launch the app it will open in that window. LyleH

I'm not the OP, but I always wondered about which screen took precedence. I take it you mean when launching the app from the dock on the screen in question? This works for me.

Single left clicking DOES cause Spotlight to appear on that screen, but I can't find any rhyme or reason as to which one displays an app when launched from Spotlight. I often type Command-Space and the first couple letters of an app to launch. Good to know that it works from the dock though.

When I single-left-click on the desktop of my secondary monitor (which is not the active one) the top menu bar (Finder - Edit - View, etc. become active. If I have a window on that monitor showing it does not become active unless I click on that window. My Dock is still at the bottom of my main window.

If I click on one of the apps in the Dock in the main monitor it will launch in the secondary window as I want.

Maybe I have something configured differently because I don't get Spotlight when I single-left-click on the secondary monitor. I'm running an old iMac (early 2009) with El Capitan 10.11.6. I don't use Spotlight much at all - I either use Open-Apple-F or use EasyFind for my searches. LyleH
