Speaking about missing MRF members

I just posted at thread below about a guy in MA that was in custom t-shirt printing business. Sorry I can't recall his name. He didn't post in a quite a while.

Another name I didn't notice lately is Uncle Wig (former Don Kyote?). I don't recall seeing any posts lately.

Who else is missing? Black, dmann, and many others have not posted in ages.

This topic reminds me of a guy on another forum I've frequented about as long as I've been on the MRF. He had more posts than anybody, got into all kinds of drama, then swore off that forum, asking for all his posts to be deleted. A few months later he was back, and back into the drama, then said goodbye again, and returned again. Some of us just blocked him, tired of all his drama.

Here's a few more I haven't seen in a while.

I come here to get AWAY from Facebook. It's like sipping cold Lemonade on a front porch swing in summer vs driving in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.

A similar forum I have frequented for over a Decade used to have a private message group thread that was active for about a decade. I was probably the oldest person in the thread but somebody decided to move it to WhatsApp.

I hate it - it's designed for Phone and last week with the shootings a friendly debate started and it took me 3 days to go thru over 600+ "text posts"

Why the hell would we want that? This place is a googol times better than FB!

I imagine it would be for 'emergency user archive/rendezvous area' in case of MRF catastrophe. A way to brainstorm revival/replacement/restoration, get the word out, etc.

Insider was here for a while and JP definitely was here, he's the one who PM'd me that the DMers were heading over to the MRF! Sadly he was banned from here a few years ago but I don't remember why.

I seldom use Fb on my phone. That's a painfully bad experience. On my iMac, using Firefox, there are a few things to make your experience pretty painless.

Use an adblocker. Turn on the content blocking options (including no-track settings). And use a plugin called Fb Purity. It gives you a high level of control over your newsfeed.

Most of what I do on Fb is groups that feed my interests, like scale model building.
