Lifetime transfers end 1/31. New unit must be purchased by then. 3/2 deadline for activation. Service fee extra for new users.

Present Series 1/2 Lifetime subscribers: Once your new box arrives within 7-10 days, call the VIP line at (866) 424-8486 and they'll transfer service for $199. You will need your TiVo Service Number for your new and old box ready to process the transfer. Old unit gets 1 more year service for free.

The Series 2 unit with Lifetime Service set me back over $500. The new HD unit is $799 with another $199 to transfer said service to the new box. Then add about $6/month if I'd like to continue service to the original box. My unit is just about a year old now and, I'm already seeing signs that the hard drive may be on its' way out. Way too much money for what I'd be getting. I'd be interested to know what percentage of Tivo subscribers went for the offer.

This TiVo subscriber went for the offer, and I don't regret it at all. Plus, it's like getting a free $7 value per month from my cable company (since I get a 2nd tuner without the cost of an extra cable box).
