I always find current movies portraying scenes that take place many decades ago containing period cars humorous and so unrealistic because the cars are always spotless with modern paint. Most of the cars are very close in model year to the period portrayed which is also unrealistic. The above pic of the immaculate car reminded me of this.

Agreed! Shows and movies are bad about doing that with furniture and decorations as well, as if no-one was ever given an out-of-style but perfectly usable dining room or living room set from their parents or grandparents, or hung an old and ugly but sentimentally important painting over their fireplace or sofa.

As for the '60 300F itself- Love the car, absolutely hate that color, but that was a fairly popular color at the time, so props while I gag quietly.

I’d forgotten about those! As a kid, I thought they were very cool.

Movie and TV production companies rent these from established auto prop shops and they don't stock many jalopies. Since ticket buying audiences most movies are aimed at aren't yet old enough to drive, it hardly matters what they use.

Curb feelers were very helpful on our Studebaker Lark when I learned to drive. Plus we had little stick up pieces that attached to the headlight frame that marked the edge of the fender which was every so helpful learning where the front corner was.

Nah, corpulent land yachts are easy to park because most of them have fenders that go straight out, drop straight off, and are clearly visible from the driver's seat. By far the most nightmarish vehicle to park that I've ever driven was a Jaguar E-Type convertible because the bodywork rolled gently off out of view in all directions and there was no way to tell from the driver's seat where the dang thing ended.
