I can't use it. Too many companies (refuse collection, energy, health care) are using freaking random call centers to contact me. It's driving me up the wall that I have to answer what look like random butt-dials.

I love(d) this feature, but am in the same boat as Filliam; too many @#$%& companies use random call centers. I was just bitching to my bank that, due to a didn't-hear-it call from them while I was at the grocery on Sunday (to confirm charges), my checking account VISA was deactivated for 48 hours (as yesterday was a holiday).

@#$%& text message me or instill a challenge/response system. Or a pop-up when I need to go see a message in their app's messaging center.

Blind phone calls are arcane, like the bank's practice of MAILING YOU A @#$%& LETTER IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS OVERDRAWN.

(as my cell # is a work number that I've had for about 15 years, it's on a lot of spam call lists; I usually get a dozen @#$%& calls a day so I very much welcomed the Silence Unknown Callers option)

Eh, they leave a voice mail if they need to talk to me. Honestly the caller ID spoofing technology is 100% used by scammers now, so apps like Hiya are totally useless.

Agreed!

If someone I don't know wants to talk to me they can leave a message.

I love it. I don't answer unknown callers anyway - so it works for me.

I’m better off answering the scammer robocalls, even if all I do is say nothing. If I don’t, it goes to voicemail and just clogs that up.

By now I should have perfect healthcare and a forever warranty on all vehicles. Those are the two always targeting me.

Rub a dub dub, three men in a tub.

I'm also in the same boat.

I don't get that many calls, but there are those I need to respond to sooner, not later.

My preference would to silence a call immediately, but the caller hears the ringing play out and then get sent to voice mail. That is, they don't realize they got sent straight to voice mail.

This lets the caller think there was just no answer, not that they got - ignored, rejected, or whatever the cool kids are calling it.

Another feature I'd like is one that's standard on answering machines – the ability to screen calls. The phone rings, call goes to voice mail, at which time you can press SCREEN and hear the call, then ANSWER if that's what you want, or press SCREEN again to silence it and let voice mail finish.

I would still like the option to reject a call without letting go to voicemail. Ideally, I'd like to be able to generate the "line out of service" tone when I reject a call.
