ever hire someone out of state to look over a used car?

I'm contemplating a car purchase in CA. I'm across the country, so I am looking for someone to look it over for me. Naturally, payment will be involved, and we can work that out, but just curious if any of you have any experience on this front. tia.

If it were me (and I could afford it), I'd pay Scotty Kilmer to check it out. smiling smiley

Someone? Or a dealer? It's common to have a dealer look at it for a PPI. Indy's can do it too. I've done it before.

I haven't figured out if that guy has good advice or if he's just super crabby.

it's at a dealer, albeit a used car dealer. so, anyone i hire would have to go to the car, I imagine.

No, they should be willing to take it to a dealer of the make for a PPI. Common request. You will pay for the PPI.

Who says it can't be both?
