Is there a foam 4 X 8 insulation, cut to size, that's ideal for a window seal?

I'm going to temporarily insulate the Windows this winter. The are a few small unused windows with deep sills that would be ideal to insulate with the pink or blue foam. It should wedge in fine. They are deep enough that I could put in 2 planks with an air space between them.

We used those a couple of years ago when our AC died and we have to use portable ACs for two weeks while we waited for the new AC to be put in. The exhaust on them was expecting us to have standard windows (sliding top and bottom) but we have casement windows that crank out. So I bought a couple sheets of the rigid foam board and cut them to size. Not the ideal situation, but it did the job.

Whether they would do the job in your case is something you'll have to decide.

They could make a huge difference, esp with casement windows if they're not modern. Any of the foam ones would do, though reflective on the inside might be a bit more effective. Ugly as sin, though! : )

I made some out of foil-skinned 4x8 sheet foam board in our previous house. Put them over some leaky old windows on a second floor until we got around to full replacement. I covered the edges with duct tape to protect the foam...and for maximum curb appeal.

How about thick comforters?

I'm using those on the patio doors. With the foam board, I don't need to worry about hanging or attaching anything; just cut them a little oversized and wedge them in.
