LOL, I've just started watching Inspector Morse from Series 1, am at Series 2.

He had a spot of bad luck with the Mark 2, early on.

But it appears to have buffed right out.

I'm good with a Mark II, especially the later ones with curved windshields. I got to drive one once, if memory serves a '62 3.8 or thereabouts, and I liked it a lot: Comfy for four but no more and no pretense otherwise, smooth-but-not-billowy ride, surprisingly good handling and grip considering the narrow tires, and much more get-up-and-go than I expected. On the whole I was A LOT more impressed with the Mark II than the E-Type I drove, probably due to high expectations for the E-Type versus none for the Mark II, but I will say Jaguar did seem to have the sedan recipe nailed down in the late 50s/early 60s.

One like this, LHD but with dark red interior-

Side note- Those must be some ultra high-quality sardines! I don't eat them but my grandfather loved 'em and ate them all the time and not once did I see him pull anything out of a sardine can that looked anywhere near that good.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan
