The R2 system is the transmitter, I listed the above one for Nikon. Once you order a flash unit, look at the accessories that allow you to mount sift boxes such as the Bowen mount soft box. The adapter is 25 or so. The soft box is on sale for $30 or so. Then you mount it on a stand and are ready to go.

R2 Is the remote transmitting system and TTL allows you to set the amount of light more precisely. Nikon and Canon charge for 400-500 for just one unit and Nikon only works with a few high end models. This Flashpoint system is much more affordable. The link above also has the rectangular units for $125 I believe.

I almost bit on the higher end units but I don’t use these light setups too often. This price point and level of power and light weight are ideal for me. When I take portraits I like to be on the go and the higher end units weigh more. I need the portability over the power and I am using these mainly as fill lights.

What a deal. I finally pulled the trigger on a Nikon D750. Adorama had it as a deal/bundle for 996. Only $100 more for a new as opposed to the refurb deal pRICE posted a week ago. Now I will go for this flash and diffuser. Done! I am by no means a pro, but I got kids and indoor pics are inevitable. This camera and light will have me set for the next many years. Oh, and the sports - basketball, baseball, dance - this is gonna be good.

A day later and the price is still $159.

The price of the Olympus Pen E-PL8 is $279, which is a lot lower than Amazon, making me think that it also was the Deal of the Day price. Not that I need it, but $279 for a M43 camera seems like an awesome deal. This may replace my Canon G5X as a pocketable walk-around, though I'd have to spring another $200 for the 14-42 EZ pancake lens to do that.
