Old school family hardware stores are still around, and I still love them. And go to them when I want to wander around, and/or am looking for a weird widget or thingamabob. And pet the store cat or dog.

The real value of the small hardware stores are the owners/employees. Those people know everything about all kinds of weird stuff.

The last 3 owners of my local hardware store were in totally different fields . Luckily they have stayed around long enough to learn something about hardware .
