Joomla, Square Trade, WordPress…?

Looking for a content management type web site builder. I'd rather raw HTML code it, but want something that the end user can edit.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks all!

Wix is really easy but realllllly limiting.

I like Wordpress, as long as you are self hosting it. it can be super easy if you want, or you can get quite expansive if you're willing to pay for a bigger theme and extra plug-ins.

I am currently building a new site for a client that heard on NPR that Wix was the best route...and found out just how limited you were.

Thanks JDC and Markintosh.

On friend owns a water purification store and also installs home system. I'm suspecting he wants a scheduling calendar for filters as well as the usual retail stuff.

My other friend wants to sell her artwork. She likes her Square Trade mobile point of sale setup, that's why I asked about a Square Trade site.

I've got some homework to do it seems…

Yup, Wordpress is probably the way to go if you need anything beyond a basic "brochure" site, IMHO. Wordpress just has such a huge ecosystem of tools and folks who know how to use them. Definitely self-hosted. Several posts here on MRF about hosting, feel free to PM me if you ever have any questions.

Im 99.9% sure wix will let you integrate google calenders -- in which case you just update the calendar -- web site should show whats current.

ID say the less you can be involved the better? So whatever they are comfy with.

Hand coded HTML sounds banghead smiley

hand coding in Wordpress is only necessary if you prefer it. There's a built-in drag and drop editor now, and several really good 3rd party page builders.
