I figured that AAPL would go down more after buying a block of 65 shares at $290. today. It may go down quite a bit more before things get back to normal, but I 'aint shook. This has been my play for the past 20 years, and it's worked very well for me during that time.

So, what has been YOUR strategy for the market during this ongoing panic? Buying stocks? Selling off, or standing pat?

I will admit it is humbling when you lose more in two days than your annual salary, but I'm standing pat. I don't currently have any available cash to buy more. I may reconfigure a few stocks though.

Bought a couple of stocks yesterday. Today they are each down around 3%. Typical reaction to my buys. Sorry for driving the market down more.

.....I'm waiting right now because I think it will continue to dip due to Coronavirus scare......

Compared to this time two years ago, my portfolio is up over 20%.
A 2.5% drop, or even a 10% drop over a few days still leaves me "up" over the last couple years.
If it drops much more, I may pull some savings and buy more of a couple stocks.

I've been bracing for a 20-30% drop.

Looks like the COVID thing may be the drive for a correction.

My buy high sell low strategy has proven to be a poor one over the years. I blow my money on Macs and my wife's craft supplies....

Heh! Trying to catch that falling knife was exactly what I was trying to do!

Yeah, long here, although I've been wanting to buy that one last house during my life. I missed out on a perfect for me house I was looking at last year. I didn't pull the trigger because I feel AAPL will be going much higher in the near future. It hurt not buying the house, but there are other perfect homes out there to satisfy me when I do pull the trigger.

isn't that that old Rothschild maxim: Buy on the sounds of the (war) canon; sell on the sounds of the (peace) bells.

I was thinking of selling high for the past few weeks but didn’t get organized in time. Not panicking though.

I thought of buying more shares of my stock index fund, but didn’t because right now it sounds like the new virus may be getting worse before it gets better. However, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea to buy now.

Standing pat but sniffing around for some bargains. Don’t sweat the day to day if you’re in it for the long term according to my BIL, my financial advisor.

Damn it. I've been good about not even looking at my 403b for years. But because I'm looking at (semi)retirement in the next few months, I've been paying more attention. Wish I hadn't looked a few minutes ago.
