Until my neuro crud kicked in, and my legs/feet got wonky, I used to wear leather lined deck shoes sans socks. I took about a 25 year respite, then found some lightweight leather loafers a couple of years ago that are again wearable without socks.... but not for as long as the old deck shoes back in the day. A few weeks ago I stumbled upon some suede/nubuck UGG loafers (on super clearance sale, of course) that have some weird/funky wool over thin sheepskin lining, that for whatever reason are wearable long term without socks. Total score for $18 to resurrect sockless shoes.

Gonna see if/how long these newbie shoes hold up barefoot, to possibly be viable to claim status as deck shoe replacements.... was never able to wear non leather lined shoes barefoot before.
