Wow. Even those flights in summer are ridiculously cheap. I'm tempted to buy and take a gamble. I'm supposed to get on a plane next month to the EU that I've had tickets bought for some time. Still not sure if it will happen.

Yeah, I was looking at Expedia... and TWO WEEKS in Rome (Flight plus Hotel) was around $950 a few days ago.
Heck, I can barely stay HOME for two weeks for that!

Just bought tickets SF to Rome for my wife and son yesterday. Two weeks in June/July. $750 each united economy plus. Any tickets purchased through the end of March have no change fees and should we cancel the trip at any time, we retain the full value of the purchase and can use that toward any UNited tix for a full year.

If Covid 19 is still a big issue in June/July we’ll simply cancel and take a trip later in the year. Otherwise, a pretty good deal for mid summer Rome tickets.

Wife was doing most of the research but they seemed to be running around $1100-1300 before prices dropped. So $750 was a pretty good deal especially for economy plus. Maybe not true bargain basement but worth it for us to jump on.

I was just talking to someone scheduled to fly to Tel Aviv later this month on Lufthansa - except Israel won't allow any German or Italian pilots to land due to virus restrictions. So Lufthansa is trying to reschedule everyone onto other carriers that are allowed in (at least at present).
