Oil prices slid 10% on Monday as the acceleration in coronavirus cases worldwide, which is bringing travel and business to a standstill, further dents global demand for crude.

Oil continues to be hit on both the demand and supply side. The coronavirus outbreak has led to softer demand for crude as people cut back on travel, for example, while a breakdown in OPEC talks means there could soon be a supply glut as Saudi Arabia gets set to ramp up production to a record 13 million barrels per day.

$1.99 yesterday. We have a PHEV and a high mileage hybrid. Low gas prices are ho-hum.

Gasoline will go down after using up the stuff refined when prices were higher. If that doesn't work, the profound slump in demand will.

$1.89 today at the next town over. Here in town, $2.23 at all three stations. This is Northern MI.

Wouldn't you know this is what happens! D'oh! We have both BEV and PHEV, so fueling is monthly at best. And the electric bill isn't going down even with solar. We have barely even seen the sun down here this month! And more rain and snow tonight and the rest of the week!

Stay dry!

It's not just demand it's also the Russia/OPEC oil production war.
