Do you go to Aunt Betty's funeral when she suddenly passes or stay home? dunno smiley

Mr. Lahey: A lot of people, don’t know how to drink. They drink against the grain of the liquor. And when you drink against the grain of the liquor? You lose.

Randy: What the @#$%& are you talking about?

Virtual services are growing in popularity. Dealing with the deceased is going to be increasingly complicated as this continues. Probably best to send condolences remotely - Betty won't be bothered.

I’m pretty sure “Aunt Betty” will still be dead once (if?) the pandemic resolves itself. A “traditional” memorial can be held then.

I have heard no more than 10 people should be at any funeral.

You're making us worried.
First "I'm sick"
Next you post "funerals"

Please get well.

All obits I'm reading say services will take place at a later date to be announced, presumably after the virus crisis.

I wonder if there will be an uptick in cremations. Seems likely/appropriate.

In the late hours, when my mind likes to throw all sorts of doom & gloom at me, I realized that if something happens to my parents or in-laws (down in southern Louisiana; New Orleans region & Baton Rouge), I will not be able to attend the funeral, because I am borderline risk (asthma, etc.).

we have older parents in Romania, and if something happens, we cannot go.

first there are not many flights. Then we risk being denied entry. Our Romanian passports expired, so when we go there, we are "Americans". I never thought we would need those Romanian passports. And if they let us in, we risk being forced to be in quarantine for 14 days (hopefully self-quarantine). So you can't really do much...

then we risk being in quarantine on the way back to the US.

This situation really sucks.
