WiFi and BT are On in both, and they're 6' apart.

My SE is at 13.4, my 2012 mini is at 10.12.6.

I haven't set up a personal hotspot.

My contact info is in both devices.



My SE sees my Mini 5 in AirDrop and vice versa, both set to Contacts Only and when both set to Everyone, and a combination of the two.

Neither see my mini in any combination of AirDrop Settings, and my mini doesn't see either of them, in any combination.

What am I missing?

Not sure what year the cut off is but my 2011 iMac couldn't Air Drop to my phones either. when i looked into it i recall it having a model year cut off rather than an OS issue but i could be wrong.

Is the Firewall turned on on the Mini?

Apple says any Mac 2012 or later (except Mac Pro) running Yosemite or later.

For better or worse, Firewall is off.

Restarting usually works for me

turn bluetooth and wifi off and back on for both devices. usually does the trick for me. Restarting both would accomplish the same thing.

Rebuild the desktop?

In the latest iteration of AirDrop on my iPhone (currently at 13.3.1), when I couldn't see an older Mac as a destination there was a prompt that asked if I were trying to connect to an older device. I clicked it and it fixed the problem - not sure exactly what it did though...
