Be aware that to play blues harmonica, the hard needs to be five notes higher than the song key. If the song is in A, play a D harmonica. G and A harps are hard to play because they are relatively low and hard to blow. Hohner harps are extremely expensive - over $40. And they can easily blow out and be useless. Get a Hot Metal from eBay. Many of them are too expensive so look for a cheaper one. There are lots of youtube harmonica lessons.

Knowledgeable professional Hawaiian players I've seen say it's pronounced "oo-ku-lay-lay".

It's actually Portuguese in origin.
