Do rubber-encased dumbbells usually run that high? Are they worth the markup?

I paid a buck a pound for standard 25lb hex dumbbells not too long ago, with shipping and was under the impression that this was pretty average pricing.

Rubber-encased would be nice, but I'm not sure that it's worth $35 more.

The price you see in a brick and mortar store may not reflect the price shown here because the delivery is built into the price.

If you look on ebay, dumbells are going for outrageous prices. Since most gyms and recreation centers are closed across the country, prices have skyrocketed.

The rubber coated dumbbells are nice because the rubber may scoff floors less. the hex shape also allows them to be used in push up and side planking exercises.

Paid similar prices for 25 lb Spri on Amazon in non-quarantine times. Not sure how these compare but they look similar. Looks like only 10, 15 and 20 are available. The issue you run into when buying piecemeal like this is that you will likely end up with an mismatched set. Many of us put together a set over a period of time, and depending on how OCD you are, you may end up regretting it if they don't match. Or that you prefer one style over another. FWIW, I do prefer this style for 15-20 lbs and up.
