Still Losing Your Cursor?

I was today years old when I learned you can make the cursor arrow larger in Mac OS Catalina.

Open System Preferences.
Click Accessibility > Display > Cursor.
Drag the cursor slider to the size you prefer

For some of us bigger is better. Less shaking to magnify and locate.

.....I've found that kids are the best cursors.....they have no filter, so very honest and will use the best curse words ever......to express exactly how they feel......


....sailors are pretty good cursors too......

Back in the pre-OS X days, there was an extension that let you make it different colors too. 'Course I'm dating myself here.

i've been doing that for a while and only learned from a post here a few weeks ago that that quick magnifying thing is an actual feature not a bug. But making the cursor bigger period is even better. YMMV.

Works in Mavericks too, thanks for the tip. (a usable Mac tip on a Mac forum - whoda' thunk it!)

Making the cursor large goes a ways back to Mountain Lion, maybe earlier?


Back in the pre-OS X days, there was an extension that let you make it different colors too.

There was also an extension that changed it into a pair of huge ta-tas in a red sweater that responded with inertia to the cursor.

on the downside, the enlarged cursor doesn't change at all when you hover over a link.

When I lose it I shake it to make it visible (my non-Newt malleable description). wink smiley

Been doin' the big cursor thing since SL, probably even regular Leo... gonna check Tiger next time I boot up Pismo; if I remember....
Big cursor is/has been a necessity w/ original 30" resolution since G5 tower days.

not very compared to how large you can make it. i have the slider just a hair to the left of the 2nd tick mark.

ok, this is weird. just now, today, the arrow has started changing to a hand over some links. very odd.
