I keep getting text messages to--let's say Jolene. I don't know why. I've had the same phone# for many years. I'd like to block any and all messages directed to Jolene. They're all SPAM. Is there a way to do this?

The name (Jolene) is irrelevant, if the messages are spam.

It's no different in purpose than in the days of getting spam email addressed to someone unknown but with (sometimes) a similar name.

i doubt theres's any way to block a text based on a word.

Because you're asking about blocking a name, can we assume these texts are coming from different numbers, and that blocking the numbers is not an option?

Just for kicks, I’ll say that one time I started getting SMS spam after this one package from amazon was delivered.
I took a good look at the label and realized that my ph# was there in clear sight.
I have been choosing items fulfilled by amazon after that.

Did that. The messages come from different numbers.

Hmmm...it could be that at one time Jolene did have your number and is continuing to use it, hence calls or texts coming to your number for Jolene.

We still always use our old phone number for everything...all internet orders, store memberships, etc. It occurred to us that at no time in history did anyone ever call us regarding order issues or shipping. Even banks don't seem to use phone numbers to verify online card purchases.

Whomever actually has our old phone number probably does get a lot of spam calls asking for Mark....
