I would have LOVED that as a kid, but surely... even back then, someone must have asked, 'ARE YOU INSANE?'

A lot of that kind of playground equipment was still up in the '60s. But it was iron pipe, not poles.

Not all that different than my elementary school had (and we had the centrifuge of death merry-go-round too)

All that was left in my school yard was the iron pipe skeleton of a swing set -no swings. So, we climbed on the pipes.

Hurts like a bastid...

No way could that exist to day.

A fall could be really, really bad.

I'd have been all over that thing.

Two things missing are a set of monkey bars along those top pipes and a set of rings.

Wow, that'd be great fun.

That was at the old Trinity Park in Dallas which is now called Fretz Park and this is it today --

Looks a long-lost photo of a military training camp for little people.

And tell me again why knickers were ever a thing?

Wow. How do you mount the swings when the seats are higher than what you can reach when standing on your tippy toes? Shimmy down from the bar above like the kid who is sitting rather uncomfortably in the middle of the photo?

And what's with the guys bullying the kid on the ladder at the right of the frame? Are they busting his fingers to force him off?

We really have gotten soft.
