Diskmaker X just made a big improvement

Now Diskmaker X Pro (still donationware) will take all of your OS installers and make a single drive with the full variety of installers each on their own partition. Very handy. I was told to connect a 64GB or 128GB drive (I connected an old IMB 80GB drive and it was fine) and it made installers for 10.15, 10.14 and 10.13 from installers on my computer and then made a 50+GB partition of the unneeded space.

They say, 'Seven OS. One app to rule them all.', but I only wanted 3 OSes for my installer

I did this myself earlier this year using a 120GB SSD and have installers for 10.6 through 10.15 on it. Didn't use Diskmaker X, just Apple's "createinstallmedia" or Disk Utility for OS versions that predate that.

I initially tried it on USB Flash drives and they were just too slow. Microcenter was selling the 120GB SSD for around $16 and a USB 3 enclosure was about $10 and the result was a very fast drive storing all of them.

Nice to have. Just redid an older iMac to HS, but was able to download from the store.

I have some portable spinner drives sitting... but for $30 a you can get 256 GB SSD ready to go... spinners to the grave! devil smiley

Thanks hal !!

Perfect use for one of the small SSDs I have laying about...

EDIT:
Wow, that was fast! 10.9 thru 10.14 on a 240GB SSD < Five Minutes.
EDIT 2: Not so fast on a 64GB USB3 stick. More like 15 minutes!

Thanks for the tip. I've downloaded all the OS installers and I'm going to give it a try.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.
