I've never seen one, but ... is this an Eastern Mockingbird? Very pretty bird.

Yes, a mockingbird. Had them in MA and on PEI; very striking wing markings when flying. And an amazing ability to recite any sound heard -- car alarms, door locking chirps, dogs barking -- as part of the daily 'dawn chorus'.

Cornell University Ornithology Laboratory has the AllAboutBirds
site with visual and audio id info

Scary ... I didn't realize that these guys are smart enough to recognize individual humans and are really quite aggressive about their territory...

Yes, a mockingbird. I love hearing them sing...unless it's right outside my bedroom window in the middle of the night. Yup, they do that. Endlessly.

Oh and also, I just discovered that a mated pair of house finches was trying to maybe nest right behind one of my Ring cams, despite the fact that I put anti-bird wire behind it, to try to prevent exactly that from happening ... the damned female was literally trying to destroy the USB connector! angry villagers smiley ... I have good video of them too, if anyone wants to see.

And if anyone wants to see a truly enviable bird cam, and hasn't already seen it, check this out (it's only a sampling of what she's gotten): [www.inspiremore.com]
