RIP: Older Phorum member Laarree
Posted by: cbelt3
Date: July 03, 2020 01:44PM
Larry suffered a fatal heart attack in his sleep on Wednesday night. His sister let his Facebook friends know yesterday. Larry was a prolific freelance NYC photographer and graphic artist. He left the phorum a few years ago, but FB friended a few of us. His art will live on, as will the memories of his friends and family.

I think I had more contact with him on facebook than I did here. I thought his artwork was pretty good and had been thinking about asking him for a print now that I have a place to keep such things.

He was always an interesting character which is something I value highly.

I remember Laarree. We lost another good one. Rest In Peace.

Last post was in 2013? I was wondering why the name didn't strike a chord.

RIP, Larry.

I was connected with him on FB but had lost touch with him over the last few years. He had told me when he left the forum that he didn’t find it interesting anymore and was more interested in FB content and the way he could interact there. He lived around the corner from my mom in Brooklyn and my sis was friends with him there, seeing him often at the vet they shared and in the park with their dogs. She let me know Thursday. Things had gotten a bit difficult for him when he had to move to LIC. He was a very talented artist and photographer and had helped me a number of times over the years when I was working in graphic design.

RIP Larry, I’m going to miss your sidewalk and neighborhood photo offerings.

FWIW his sister and niece are working to preserve his massive digital art presence. Lots of his FB friends (local pros) are working on the project.

Think about what would happen to your digital legacy (beyond the “Delete my browser history “ trope...
