Vimeo? YouTube? Other?

We want to put some recorded webinars up so our internal folks (and ONLY internal) can view them. I'd like a way to nicely organize them and make it not so much like simply navigating to a folder on a share where all the videos live. I'm not sure what Vimeo does but you can make things private with YouTube. I just don't want people to have to click on links all the time or bookmark specific videos. Plus I don't really want Vimeo and YouTube "owning" our videos after we upload them.

So I guess it would be nice to have something similar to YouTube but that ONLY displays the things we've added and ONLY for the people we specify.

You can control access to content on Vimeo by sending invites to content via email. I am not sure how exactly, but I am currently "renting" access to some recorded webinar videos from a paid online conference. The content is curated by the organizers and my access will expire in a few months. It seems pretty well thought out, and not something that YouTube offers, as far as I am aware.

Both can be private.

We use Vimeo for private viewing right now.

I'm only familiar with YouTube in that you need to send the person a link to a video so they can view it...if its private. But if I have 20 videos and we hire a new person, will I need to send them 20 links?

How does Vimeo work? Does it let you grant access to a group of videos? Or is it one by one?

I will ask my Vimeo expert, I am not 100% sure how she set it up.

Just create a little webpage with 20 YouTube links - that way you are only sending one link to the new hire. If you can't host it on an internal network page, you could use something like Dropbox.

That's not quite as elegant as I was hoping for. ; )

Create a private Youtube playlist with the unlisted videos.

I find vimeos interface more user friendly... if that matters.

for sure. Definitely seen as higher quality, better experience, etc. Just not as much organic traffic as Youtube, if that matters.

Are you willing to pay for an upgraded subscription (or already have one)? A lot of Vimeo features are limited to paid tiers, and the free tier may present a problem with the weekly upload limit (at least for the initial bulk upload).

I meant their backend interface as well.... if I wasnt clear. $7 cheap tier does a lot more than i expected.
