What is a slogan that has influenced you?

"Where's the beef?" Though the commercial is about hamburgers, I have used it to closely look at the actions and deeds of others and not just hear slick sales pitches.

From my Boy Scout days, long ago:
"Be Prepared"

I think I've internalized this throughout my life to mean "assume things are going to go wrong, and have a contingency plan for when they do", and has probably saved me from worse trouble an untold number of times over the decades.

"Measure twice, cut once" — a good reminder that there's not an undo command in life, usually.

And I wish I could point to more times where this one applied to me: "Think Different".

Murphy was an optimist.

That "measure twice, cut once" saying above is one that I use constantly.

I've always heard it and repeated it often as: "How come there's never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over?"
