since when did they start using numbers for WiFi models? if the latest and greatest is WiFi 6, I think I probably have WiFi 3 or 4, I am not sure.
I have a 2009 model Apple Airport Extreme Dual band, G and N, an recently I connected a T-Mobile ASUS router, which does AC 1900 or something like that. My work laptop (2018) and wife's MacBook Air (2017) may be able to use AC, all other devices and N or G.

Wi-Fi 6 is the next generation of Wi-Fi. It’ll still do the same basic thing — connect you to the internet — just with a bunch of additional technologies to make that happen more efficiently, speeding up connections in the process.
