Now MRF stripper recs are done, can I get screw ID help?

We purchased a nice metal stand from Plow and Hearth.

Alas, the screws are missing. We did contact them, and they basically said they cannot help me until sometime in Sept or Oct when they will receive more inventory.

What I know: I need 18 35mm and 12 20mm screws. The width is about 1/4" (but likely a metric width) and an unknown thread spacing.

I did find a random screw in my garage that is the correct width and thread spacing.

Pre-COVID, I'd take it to a hardware store and see what my options are. I might still.

But if I can find a way to be sure what I need, I can likely order online and get the right color (bronze) rather than whatever is in the local inventory.

Happy to take high resolution images, etc. Just not sure how to measure.

TIA!

So it sounds like you are asking how to screw strippers. Are hookers and booze also involved?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Perfect! Though perhaps not as much fun as H&B...

That still may be your best solution. Mask up and head to the hardware store. Confirm the exact size and thread spacing and buy one or two to try. If they fit right, then you can shop online for the right color if the hardware store doesn't have them or if you just want to price shop.

Can't Plow and Hearth tell you the sizes?

Alas, no. They ‘helpfully’ sent me the image of the instructions that did not have details.

I sent them back an ask for specifics and I’ve only heard crickets.

Why can't I get just one screw?
