[dpreview.com]

I am not a big Lexar fan but a 300X ceiling certainly makes the rumor mill buzz on potential dslr cameras.

Yeah, lexar and delivering on their FW card readers are two different things.

Nor am I. I can't even get them to return a simple phone call.

I love my sole Sandisk Extreme IV CF card and the Sandisk FW800 CF reader.
Makes transferring files from the card so freaking fast. Sandisk is dropping prices,
so I might get another Extreme IV card.

I took a workshop given by a prominent photographer who was always warning
about file corruption problems with Lexar CF cards. He avoided them like the plague.

I won't buy Lexar either. Our staff had a 50% corruption rate.

That's scary. How do they stay in business if stuff like that is so common?

They established a better reputation ahead of Sandisk as DSLR took off. When the latest batch came out about 2 years ago the issues started popping up. This is on Nikon and Canon cameras. Knock on wood, but our Sandisks have no issues yet. Also it's easy to stay in business since most people buying don't either know or care enough. When you are shooting on deadline with an editor breathing down your neck and the card goes corrupt, forcing you to run a long recovery program, you have a way of disliking Lexar.
