Anyone here member of the 300 Degree club?

I found out a guy at work is member of this 300 Degree club

[en.wikipedia.org]

Participants in the Antarctic 300 Club wait for a day when the temperature drops to -100F (073C) for more than a few minutes, generally in the winter. They first warm up in a sauna heated to 200F (93C) for as long as 10 minutes. Then they run naked to the Geographic South Pole, circling it in the -100F weather. After this, they usually warm up in the sauna again, often with the aid of alcoholic beverages.

Depending on where that sauna is located, that could be a LOOOOOONG run...

It is what it is.

I was the caretaker of a hot springs in the mountains of Wyoming for several winters. The pool was drained every night after closing; it required me to be in the water through much of the process, and usually I was skinny dipping. I’d have to jump up, do some scrubbing, and then get back in the water to re-warm. At its peak, the water came out of the ground at around 117 to 118 degrees. There were some stretches when the air temp went as low as -48. For a few minutes, I could walk around without feeling the cold, but when that period ended, it ended quickly.

I would worry about frostbite on my extremity.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

I've done a 140 degree temp swing. Took off from MSP in -30 degree weather at 7am and landed in sunny orlando FL 3 hours later and it was 90 degrees.

160 degrees only for me. Working outside at supermarket in Phx when it was 120, run inside when you get too hot and stand in the huge storage freezer for ice cream and frozen meat and have the blast fan blow -40 at you at 25mph. You can take about 90 sec of that before you retreat to a mere 72 in the store.
