Are your allergies acting up?
Posted by: Grumpyguy

Over the last several weeks my allergies have been acting up. This last week, they've gone haywire.

I usually just take a benydril (which doesn't make me sleepy), but they stopped working. I've added Zyrtec and Flonase to rotation and it helps for a few hours and then they start up again.

The Accuweather app says Ragweed and mold levels are high.

I usually get allergies in October, can't ever remember fighting them in August.

Just curious if you are having issues?

P.S. my allegories are just fine ; )

Mine have been bad the last couple of weeks.

I was on allergy shots for a few years. While I was on them nothing bothered me. I would still be on them if they weren't so expensive.

My allergist told me it was okay to take 2x zyrtec / day during peak allergy season. One morning and one evening.

Its not a good idea to take benadryl for an ongoing period of time.

You might be able to toss in another allergy related pill but I forget which, its worth researching.

The combination of allergies and the smoke really messes with me.

Are your allegories acting up?

No, there are way to many subjects to be used as an allegory at this present time...

Oh-you mean allergies!

Yes.

Yes. Eyes itching and feeling kind of worn out the last few days.

Per my allergy app, we have ongoing problems with dust and ragweed.

I do believe that a person's sensitivity changes over the years. Lately, I've been very lucky. Years ago, I needed to take some kind of OTC meds for allergies on most days. Over the last 2 ~ 4 years, my sensitivity has gone WAY down. I can't remember when the last time my need to take anything was necessary.

Yes, absolutely. Every day we ask ourselves...allergies or COVID?

Flonase takes a few weeks to reach max power. But you are on the right track. Benadryl can be a powerful breakthrough stop-gap though.

Mine are acting up a bit, as is usual this time of year. But I have been wearing a mask so much that I haven't been as bothered as I am normally. Have been taking half a Zyzal in the evening when it seems necessary. Makes me feel like a zombie into the next morning, but it's not qute as bad as cetirizine.
