We bought one of those last year. It didn't come with a stripper and I couldn't cajole my wife into being one, but we did have some booze as we stood and looked at it after the 5 min it took to set it up. We paid less for it--I think it was just under$600. Our last tree lasted for 10 years so if we get the same life out of this one it will be reasonable-sort of. Anyway, it's a very good looking tree. We looked at the various big box stores and what they had just didn't match the looks of this one.

Yeah, our "real" tree is nearly $100 every year -- not including the "experience" of getting it -- gas, lunch, stop in the shop, etc. And the wife has a done a few of "we need all new ornaments" transitions in the last 17 years.

So 10 years from a $600 tree seems more than fine. =)

We got a 7' pre-lit artificial from Costco a few years ago for a second tree display in the basement, and if we are away over the holidays instead of a real tree that would need more care.

I bet it looks great with that many lights. Being LED it should last a few years too. I used to have a fake tree and enjoyed it but my wife and kids prefer the real thing. We usually get two 6' trees and a single 10' tree. We tried moving up to 12' last year but it was too big for our stand to keep upright. It had to be shortened...

I can't image what size tree you'd get for $100 here. I think I paid $40 for an 8 foot tree but I might be misremembering.

We have an awesome family farm nearby where all trees are $25. A foot tall or 30’, same price. Cut and lug it yourself. We get a different variety almost every year- it’s nice.

We also have the mishmosh of old and new ornaments - I am not one of those "pretty cohesive theme" people. My theme is my family and my life.

If someone NOT ME was responsible with purchasing, transporting, seting up, decorating, up keep, breakdown and disposal of said tree. I would much prefer a live tree as well!

Yeah, we prob overpay. Its a little farm/pumpkin/festival place that we have been going to for years, originally when the kids were little -- for the "experience". Now its kinda tradition.

We always get Noble firs, which arent cheap, and usually 9 ft (we have 11 ft ceilings). Theres always an additional fee, we have them cut it, shake it and bag it.

Everything costs more in CA, even big box stores are $60+

When I was a kid we used to head to the rail yards in San Pedro where they came fresh off the train. They would toss them out and stand them up, mom would pick one, and off we went. =)

So, if one of those 2700 bulbs burn out, do you have to test one bulb at a time to find it. Memories of my childhood series wired tree lights.
