I don't believe it, but it appears I have a failed FW800 cable.
It'll connect to a drive, but seems to have an issue with my UA Apollo interface after a few minutes.
I swapped it for a new cable and all seems fine .... so far.
Which begs the question, reliable source for a good FW800 cable?
Amazon pick? Monoprice or other?
Hand wired by intergalactic pixies with free range organic plutonium fed unobtainium on Omicron Delta 5?
The one I sub'ed is too short. I need a 6 footer.

My guess is that the cable didn't fail.

There's power and signal loss over a long cable. Good chance that the Apollo draws too much power. that's a notorious problem with audio gear.

Seems like someone around here might have one to offer up. I think I have a couple but I'm not sure about anything that long. Will check.

So then leave the 1m I have and move the Mac a little closer to make it, I guess. Don't suppose there's anyway to check that?

I really would like to PCIe Tbolt this MP3,1.
But although the card (Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge) is known to work after flashing, no one can say whether it'll work with the Apollo, PT10HDn, blah, blah, blah, etc.
