Wow, I am liking the new Safari...

... maybe it's just new to me, and you all already updated, but... this new version (14.0) of Safari rocks! (I'm still on Mojave...)

Pages are seemingly opening up way faster, AND it allows for some new extensions that weren't previously available. One of these is one I'd been looking for, for a long time -- a tab suspender, to reduce memory usage on inactive tabs. Also, the privacy report is nice, and I do like what they've done with the tab previews.

I'm having a similar experience with the new Safari. Everything seems noticeably snappier (so far). We'll see how long it lasts.

No, no, no... it's "Safari, so goodi". Good idea, though!

FYI--the Safari upgrade disables Flash. Not that that is a bad thing, but it may create issues for the less tech informed.

Oooh, good to know. I may leave that setting as is, since Flash is going bye-bye in December anyway, and no one is going to shed a bitter tear about that.

I'm on Mojave with Safari 13.1.2 -- why isn't a new version available on my app store?

The new version is only available for 10.14 and newer.

1) Are you running 10.14.6 (latest version) ? Maybe you need to be on the latest version to be able to upgrade.

2) It's through Software Update/System Preferences, not the app store.

OK, got it. I only saw a Catalina upgrade in System Preferences but when I clicked the button More Info (?), there was the Safari upgrade. Thanks.

You're welcome, and it didn't occur to me about the "More info" because I've permanently banished the Catalina upgrade nag.

Yes, not an easy to spot update - and forces you to avoid the landmine of a Catalina 'upgrade'...

Yes, that's exactly why I saw it -- since I no longer see the Catalina upgrade, it was obvious to me.

I am avoiding it since my credit union warned me my bill pay service would not work with the upcoming version of Safari.
