There should be a USPS tracking number in that email someplace too, what does the USPS website tracking history show?

USPS of course

USPS just delivered a package 3 days ahead of the vendor's schehule.

I posted recently of AMZ's giving me a notification of a package shipped via TBA, the next day giving me a Your package may be lost and encouraging me to apply for a refund.

More recently, almost a full month later, AMZ sends me a thank you for returning the package and notes that I've already been given a refund.

I never got the package- it was never delivered, at least to me.

How and why AMZ considered it lost the next day after shipping is beyond me.

Having used AMZ, FedEx, UPS, and the USPS particularly heavily over the last few months, the USPS has by far been more reliable, and also over a lifetime.

My preference?

USPS, of course.

Yup, b/c USPS (for me) has lost more packages during the pandemic than all shippers combined for my entire pre-pandemic life.

but your local PO is messed up, your entire experience suffers.

FYI, I've shipped about 3000 USPS packages in the last 20 years and every single one of them made it to their intended destination intact. I do take great care to make sure the package is rock solid and I literally pack it well enough to withstand a carrier holding the package up over his/her head and throwing it down to the ground with all of their strength. Really. I reinforce the package corners and tape up and box seams because I've received LOTS of packages that just fell apart en route. I ship signature required.

I wish other sellers could make 10% of that effort. I recently received an item where they just threw a fragile electronic item and the cables in a flat rate box with a wimpy crimpled piece of paper that wasn't big enough to take up the extra space. So, of course it arrived broken, especially after the carrier dropped it over a 6' fence. Then dropped a 2nd package on top of it.

It still worked, and I honestly probably could have used it for my purpose and re-sold it to break even or maybe even profit because it was such a good deal to begin with. But, I sent it back for a refund.

Sadly (at least here), USPS signature required is a useless joke during the pandemic. The carrier just leaves the package and signs for it themselves. They don't even make sure I'm home and often leave the package out in the open where it could be easily spotted and stolen. I'd much rather they leave a pick-up notice and I would go get it at the post office, especially after all the lost packages due to mis-deliveries. At least UPS and FedEx knock and wait until the see me coming before leaving (haven't tested that to see if they would actually take the package back if they didn't see me).

My postman explained it to me - he is supposed to look me in the eye and ask if I want the package - that's the signature. But my postman is the only guy in the whole city that knows the job inside and out.

"I wish other sellers could make 10% of that effort."

It's worth the effort to me... it's not worth the effort for amz.

You just described the majority of packages I receive from Amazon. When they don’t just use a friggin’ envelope to ship my item(s), that is.

It is what it is.

I use USPS for overnight delivery because they usually take at least two days so I get my money back.
