IOS14 and iPad Air2- really nice update

This is 6 year old iron, and it’s served me well in the time. However, it was clearly slow in iOS13.6/7, and it sat unused.

With comments from here, I was glad to move to iOS14 and give it a try. Nice changes include the moving unused apps to the cloud, freeing up space. I think it also made the OS faster.

I checked, it was the first iOS device to have 2GB RAM. It was super fast when released, giving it a lot of future-proofing. First iPAD running 7 different versions of iOS. Has touchID and a great screen still today.

Plan to have it focus as a nice consumption device, including as an ereader. Current iPads are a little larger, and I do not think the screen is better. I have an iPad Pro for any CPU-intensive needs.

I know this may be the last iOS, but I suspect I’ll keep it for another 3 years in this mode.

Not nearly as fast as even the $329 iPad just released. But I’m not thinking of upgrading for awhile.

My girlfriend has my iPad Air 2, and I have a 2017 iPad Pro.

I wish I'd waited a few months and got a 2018 iPP, so as one Pencil would work on both my Mini 5 and iPP.

But at this rate it may be 2022 before I get another iPad.
